The SAP Basis Junior Consultant will be responsible for assisting in the administration, maintenance, and support of the company’s SAP systems. The consultant will work closely with SAP Senior Basis consultants in ensuring that the SAP systems operate reliably and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches and updates as needed.
- Perform system copies, refreshes, and client copies as part of system maintenance activities.
- Administer the SAP database in alignment with agreed standards to maximise system performance and availability.
- Assist in planning and executing SAP system upgrades, services pack installations and enhancement pack upgrades.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule downtime and minimize impact on business operations during maintenance activities.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data intergrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Work with SAP Senior Basis consultants to implement performance tuning measures and improve system responsiveness.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference,
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of SAP basis experience
- SAP Basis Technical certification and ITIL 3 Certification required
- IT related tertiary qualification beneficial
- Previous experience working with SAP Basis and NetWeaver administration as well as PI/PO
- Experience in SAP Backup and Recovery, SAP Basis Monitoring, SAP Patch Management, Router Configuration, SAP Kernel Administration and SAP HANA & S/4HANA.
- Proficient in ITIL processes especially Incident, Service Request and Problem Management.
- Experience in disaster recovery management and planning and/or business continuity planning.
