Master Data Steward – Material

Calling all Master Data Stewards! Our client is searching for someone to join them for a 6-month contract based in Durban.

As the Master Data Steward – Material, you will be required to facilitate in the improvement of the SAP master data quality.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data profiling to identify duplicates, incompleteness, inconsistencies and other quality issues


• Work with solution owners, functional data stewards and the data migration team to remedy residual data migration issues


• Facilitate the development of governance standards, policies, and guidelines for Material master data across the organisation


• Collaborate with functional data stewards to refine and update these standards as needed, based on functional feedback and business requirements


• Identify and report compliance- and operational risks related to master data


• Oversee data quality at a detail level, focusing on the consistency of Material master data across functions


• Work with functional data stewards to investigate and solve issues that affect specific processes or reports


• Perform data cleaning activities and mass updates resulting from business changes. in collaboration with the business


• Works closely with cross-functional teams to establish a single source of truth for master data


• Compile training material on master data processes across functional teams


• Provide enablement and training to end-users that are involved with any aspect of master data creation

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification


• At least 5 years SAP project experience


• Deep understanding of SAP Master Data, especially in the functional areas of Materials Management and Plant Maintenance


• Experience with drafting policies and procedures


• Strong data analysis skills
