Calling all Project Manager! Our client is searching for someone to join them for a 6-month contract based in Durban.
As the Project Manager, you will manage several software and infrastructure projects, from inception through to handover to business, ensuring the delivery of specified products and services within agreed time, quality and cost parameters, nurture key relationships with project stakeholders, encouraging a future-orientation and championing the values of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation
- Lead projects from requirements definition and investment planning, through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Ensure projects are implemented in accordance to established project methodologies, ensuring that communication channels and appropriate milestone reviews are in place
- Manage resource, cost and timeline planning for projects.
- Continuously measure performance to ensure the projects are progressing per original plan and budget and in accordance with the overall program schedule
- Coordinate resources to ensure project and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders
- Communicate project progress by producing targeted project reports to provide timely and accurate status and decision support information to project teams, project stakeholders and senior leadership
- Drive coordination within IT functional teams such as PMO, security, data migration and our AMS teams for post Go-Live support transitions
- Drive conflict management and issue resolution.
- Ensure overall success of the projects.
- Report progress, issues and risks to stakeholders and management
- Ensure Group IT PMO is up to date with overall progress and governance
- First escalation point for escalated issues and risks.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders (Customer, System Integrator contractors) to mitigate implementation risk.
- Provide Customer governance, direction and oversight of schedule, budget, requirements (scope), quality, risk, resources and regulatory.
- Interface with IT, Procurement, HR, Legal and Finance, as required.
- Support Group IT and Project Change Management Team with Change Management activities, as required
- Ensure teams are equipped with relevant information and knowledge to support business readiness and manage execution for go-live activities
- Project governance is a critical element of any project, especially on complex and risky projects.
- Setup of project governance that will provide the structure, processes, decision-making models, and tools for managing the projects, while supporting and controlling the projects for successful delivery.
- Ensure alignment to PMO project delivery requirements and stage gate checks
Requirements:
- IT Diploma or degree
- Minimum 10 years various IT related projects (Infrastructure and Applications) or related experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in project management
- Knowledge and experience of IT Infrastructure and IT Applications
