BI Developer

Swan iT is searching for a BI Developer for a client in the food industry. This is a permanent position that is based near Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be managing design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions that turn data into knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and deploy data architecture, data warehouses and business intelligence solutions (dashboards, reports).


• Create and maintain data integration packages to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.


• Monitor, maintain, and optimize database performance (including tuning queries, indexing, and troubleshooting).


• Perform SQL queries - design, code, test, and aggregate the results to conduct analysis and create useful information.


• Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate data solutions.


• Provide continuous improvements on reporting and analytics methods.


• Database server administration, including database maintenance and ensuring data quality, integrity and security.


• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place (e.g. clustering, replication, failover).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, business intelligence, or related field.


• Certification in Database Administration or equivalent is beneficial


• At least 3 years of previous experience as a BI Developer.


• Experience with data warehouse design and business analysis.


• Understanding of database management systems, OLAP, and ETL processes.


• FMCG or retail industry experience is highly advantageous
