Data Science Consultant

Swan iT is searching for a Data Science Consultant to join a client in Cape Town. The successful candidate must be able to balance client communication and hands-on technical contributions within our Data Science team.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business needs and data-related challenges.


• Facilitate discussions, workshops, and presentations to align stakeholders on project goals and deliverables.


• Translate business requirements into actionable technical tasks for the Data Science team.


• Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment.


• Manage expectations, provide regular updates, and address client concerns effectively.


• Work on data-driven projects involving Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and advanced analytics.


• Conduct data analysis, build predictive models, and create data-driven solutions.


• Perform hands-on coding (Python, R, SQL, etc.) and data processing as needed.


• Contribute to model deployment, performance tuning, and automation processes.


• Ensure high-quality deliverables with proper documentation and best practices.

Requirements:

• 5 years of hands-on experience with data visualization, feature engineering, and model development


• Experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus


• Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)


• Exposure to MLOps and model deployment is a plus


• Strong proficiency in Python/R, SQL, and ML frameworks (Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)


• Proven ability to interact with clients, understand business problems, and propose solutions
