Swan IT is searching for a Oracle Application Developer (Intermediate to Senior Level) for a remote opportunity in South Africa. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Oracle development tools and technologies such as PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports, Oracle Application Express (APEX), and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS).
Responsibilities:
- Develop new modules and enhance existing Oracle applications using PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle APEX, and/or Oracle EBS tools.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Oracle applications and third-party systems using APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), XML, and flat-file interfaces.
- Write optimized PL/SQL code, procedures, packages, triggers, and functions.
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness of Oracle applications.
- Work with DBAs to tune SQL queries and monitor performance issues.
- Provide technical support for Oracle applications in test, UAT, and production environments
- Develop and execute unit tests and support QA and UAT efforts.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, deployment guides, and change logs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate/Professional (advantageous).
- Oracle APEX certification or training (optional but beneficial).
- ITIL Foundation or Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle application development experience.
- Strong experience with Oracle Database (12c, 19c, or later) and PL/SQL.
- Experience in Oracle Forms/Reports, APEX, or Oracle E-Business Suite (depending on environment).
- Experience in full SDLC, Agile development methodologies, and DevOps practices.
