QA Automation Engineer

Swan IT is searching for a QA Automation Engineer for a client in Johannesburg. This position will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test scripts for regression, integration, and performance testing to improve software quality and reduce manual testing overhead

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Automation Test Strategy as well as Automation Coverage Metrics.


• Script reliability and execution success rates.


• Reduction in manual test cycles.


• Frequency and relevance of regression issues caught by automation.


• Contribution to automation framework improvements.


• Accurate and complete test documentation.


• Timely delivery of test results and sign-offs.


• Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios. Designing, writing and executing various types of test cases such as functional, integration, end-end, regression, and customer scenario testing


• Working with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues


• Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.


• Ensuring that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications


• Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out


• Conduct post-release / post-implementation testing

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.


• ISTQB Test Automation Engineer (preferred).


• Relevant automation tool certifications (Selenium, Playwrite).


• 3+ years in QA automation or software development across multiple applications.


• Proficient in scripting and coding.


• Experience with automation tools.


• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
